About the Author

Brian Pikalow

Brian’s mission statement is to relentlessly engage people in meaningful relationships so they can grow as disciples of Jesus and be empowered to find fulfillment in their calling at home, work, church, community and the world.

Dr. Brian Pikalow grew up in the Central Florida area. During his college career, Dr. Pikalow worked on the staff of the University of Central Florida (UCF) Football Team from 1987-1992, which gave him invaluable experience meeting the needs of athletes, coaches, and fellow students. He was the only student non-football player to address the team before a game. He also served in this capacity for the Orlando Predators Arena football team. While attending university and upon graduation, Brian worked as an Engineer-In-Training for the U.S. Navy. He served on the faculty of Student Leadership University, which is an organization that offers outstanding leadership training to the “Who’s Who” among high school students in America. Brian became a certified coach for the Center for Relational Leadership consulting Embrace Home Loans and the Eckerd Foundation. He assisted Dr. Pat Morley with his new book “Young Man in the Mirror”, a subsequent work to “Man in the Mirror” which sold over a million copies. Brian founded a movement called “The 40-Day Challenge” in memoriam of the 1999 Columbine High School massacre. He was named after the football player in the movie, “Brian’s Song.”  He and his wife have taught empathy to more than 700 couples over the past 25 years. He has three adult sons. He is currently an associate pastor at Discovery Church and resides in Orlando, FL.

Morley, Patrick. (Broadman & Holman, 2003). Young Man in the Mirror. I assisted Dr. Pat Morley with this book, which was a subsequent work to his book Man in the Mirror which has sold over two million copies.

Pikalow, B., Wright, D., and Yarborough, K. (1998-2006). “The 40-Day Challenge.” The 40-Day Challenge was developed to increase the effectiveness of evangelistic and discipleship efforts of youth pastors. We distributed/sold 30,000+ copies. www.40days.net.

Education

Dr. Brian Pikalow earned his Master’s Degree at Reformed Theological Seminary and his Doctor of Ministry degree at Asbury Theological Seminary.
